Astarte Suites is a spectacular 9-suite complex designed by Aygoustis Krousis and located on a cliff on the beautiful Santorini Island in Greece. Small, but with impeccable services, infinity pool, and unforgettable views, the hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway. Here is an excerpt from the official description from the architects:
“Magic is in the details at Astarte Suites, beginning with the twinkling Swarovski stones that adorn the ceiling above each suite’s Jacuzzi pool, ending with the personalized service each guest enjoys. Surrounded by soothing shades of white and stone, guests are sure to find bliss here. During their precious down time, guests can relax and unwind next to Astarte’s stunning turquoise infinity swimming pool, which overlooks the Aegean Sea’s tranquil blue waters and nearby rocky cliffs. Leisure and cultural options abound nearby, such as in Akrotiri, an ancient city buried and preserved by volcanic ash-known as the Pompeii of the Greek islands-and at Red Beach and White Beach, the ultimate locales for a spectacular day of fun in the sun”.
How is the view from your standing point?

I went there about 3 years ago and it will alway be ingrained in my memory. They have a very historic riverwalk that’s so beautiful pictures don’t do it justice. I went there during the week of Halloween and got to experience the rich Spanish culture there because people celebrate the day of the dead there as well. You should look up their official tourist site. I can only compare it to a Spanish version of Venice, Italy in AMERICA!! They even have a famous spot along the riverwalk called “Marriage Island” where men often choose to “pop the question”

Halifax is a gorgeous city on the Atlantic cost of Canada, in one of the country’s most beautiful provinces. The city abounds in culture, heritage, and good food. Even if you’re not a fan of seafood, you’ll find something to love! Halifax is a city of laidback people, cosy pubs, and historical and quaint architecture, while at the same time being a modern destination for outdoorsy tourists. Grab Cow’s brand ice cream while walking along the harbour boardwalk, or stroll hand-in-hand through the gardens, or dine aboard a floating restaurant - there’s a lot for lovers to do! Exploring the star-shaped Citadel is an absolute must, as is visiting the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and Pier 21 (Canada’s Ellis Island). Closeby to Halifax are many other delightful places, including the famous lighthouse at Peggy’s cove, and the seaside town of Lunenburg, where the Bluenose schooner was built. Halifax is a charming city within a charming country, and a great introduction to the wonders of the Maritimes!

Karimunjawa is an archipelago of 27 islands in the Java Sea, Indonesia, approximately 80 kilometres northwest of Jepara. The islands name means “a stone’s throw from Java” in Javanese.
Karimunjawa is well known for their white sandy beaches, magnificent coral reefs, the pilgrimage to Sunan Nyamplungan Cemetery, the customs and traditions of the Karimunjawa community, and if you want something challenging, you can swim in the shark’s captivity.
You can also dive, sail, water ski, swim, etc. If you’re get lucky, you can see dolphins swimming in the ocean and release baby sea turtles (we called it Tukik) into the ocean. When you are here, you’ll feel like you’re on vacation in you’re own private islands. It’s a perfect getaway that you won’t regret. Take a look at the sky up above or looking down the sea, it’s just the same: breath taking and you won’t believe your eyes.

Kovachevitsa is one of the national architectural legends in serene Rodopi mountains of Southern Bulgaria.
It’s a place where time stops and the spirit rejuvenates through the simple joys of the crisp air, the peaceful pace of village life and the warmth of smiling local people.
The village is the perfect escape only a couple of hours from major cities yet millennia away from the fast pace of urban life.

It is located in the beautiful colonial neighborhood “La Candelaria” (Bogotá, Colombia). We (My boyfriend and I) actually found it by accident while we walked around in one of the many and similar streets of this historical neighborhood. There are many great pieces of this world known painter and multifaceted Colombian sculptor in the gallery.

As soon as we entered the place, I noticed that there were not guides for tourists or the public in general. So, this obviously has its pros and cons because the spectator has the option to make his/ her own tour, see what (s)he really wants, and take his/her time to observe each one of the paintings. Therefore, people can freely admire many of his works from his very first drafts to his striking version of paintings such as “La Monalisa”.

On the other hand, it’s not that good for people who don’t know very well his artistic style, and that’s when you need an expert on the topic to tell you about his background, his style, the way he sees the world, and how he transforms what he thinks into art. In fact, what I just said happened to my boyfriend. I tried to explain him, but it was not an easy task when you are talking about art. Finally, he told me he didn’t understand the concept of the paintings, and why did Botero choose that specific style?.

As a final point, it was an enlightening experience for me because I had seen a previous work of him about Colombian ”guerrillas” and the bloody period known as “La Violencia”, in the Modern Art Museum of Barranquilla (aka MAMBO), which totally differs from what I saw there. That made me realize how versatile Botero is. Anyway, I considered that it was a wonderful experience to show my boyfriend another incomprensible concept of art and why not?, another surrealist view of Colombia.

In about 300 km to the west from Rio de Janeiro on the Atlantic coast there’s a real masterpiece – small colonial town Paraty. This town remained the same after its construction in the middle of the 17th century and considered by UNESCO a very important architectural monument. Now in these “toy” bright buildings you will find beautiful romantic restaurants, hotels and just lovely souvenir and design shops. And don’t forget to walk on ancient streets, huging somebody you love and imagining that you came here by a time machine.

The islands of the archipelago of Bocas Del Toro, Panama are an amazing collection of small islands with exquisite beaches, where you will likely find yourself alone with your loved one.The crystal waters of the Zapatilla islands National park make these 2 palm tree fringed islands incredible! We have enjoyed escaping by ourselves on a boat to a romantic spot for snorkeling and a picnic lunch. The ambience of Bocas Town, for a romantic dinner over the water and a quaint stay at a private Villa make this place a jewel, in the box of romance!
