235. San Antonio, Texas Riverwalk

SUBMITTED BY: http://julianplowden.tumblr.com/

I went there about 3 years ago and it will alway be ingrained in my memory. They have a very historic riverwalk that’s so beautiful pictures don’t do it justice. I went there during the week of Halloween and got to experience the rich Spanish culture there because people celebrate the day of the dead there as well. You should look up their official tourist site. I can only compare it to a Spanish version of Venice, Italy in AMERICA!! They even have a famous spot along the riverwalk called “Marriage Island” where men often choose to “pop the question”

156. Baluran National Park, East Java, Indonesia

Baluran National Park is home to a beautiful savanna and hundreds of animal species. This is a hard place to reach, but that’s how it remains so pristine.  If the thought of lush green forests, savannas, and underwater exploration excite you, you should check this place out..

Take a safari through the Bekol Savanna where you can see and hear countless birds including peacocks… though they are easiest to find in August - their marriage month.

On the other side of the park you can snorkel at the Bama beach and explore the varied ecosystem around the coral reefs.

In the mornings you will wake up to the sound of birds but the best time to enjoy the romance of this place is at sunset… sit with your loved on at the golden savanna resort and see the sun setting across the savanna.  The sight is unforgettable.

152. The Blasket Islands off the coast of Ireland

SUBMITTED BY: http://lizflinn.tumblr.com/

The Blasket Islands are a group of islands off the coast of the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland.  On these islands there are no roads, no trees, only a handful of uninhabited houses, and fascinating history.  The Great Blasket (the main island in the group) is a very romantic place to take a picnic lunch or snack and lounge around in the grass and eat.  Then hike up to the top of the hill and take in the breathtaking views.  This is the most unique place I have ever been, and it’s a great place to experience with someone you love.

89. Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, USA

What a fantastic urban park.  One could easily spend a day or two exploring Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.  Grab your partner’s hand and wander the paths of this huge area and see what you stumble upon… a Japanese Tea Garden where you can stop for Green Tea and Mochi, the flower conservatory, the tulip garden, the science museum, the amazing Aquarium (the list goes on).  Holding hands, walking, talking, exploring… these are the things love and romance are made of.

84. Majorca (romantic Majorcan hotels), Spain

The picturesque island of Majorca is a richly multifaceted sanctuary for your romantic getaway.  No matter if you and your loved one yearn for proximity to the ocean or absolute hillside seclusion, this little Mediterranean island offers a wealth of magnificent accommodation alongside fabulous historic landmarks and appealing activities.

Majorca encompasses 3620 square kilometres of dramatic terrain ranging from spectacular mountains covered by luscious greenery to white sandy beaches and turquoise bays. After plunging into the glassy sea or cooling off after a panoramic hike, look forward to a romantic meal of delicious Majorcan cuisine featuring a unique blend of local fare, stylish ambiance and titillating tastes. Treat yourselves to a stay at a romantic Majorcan hotel with local charm, modern luxuries and touches of love. Stunning little villages like Valdemossa offer restaurants and cosy B&Bs within their ancient walls; take in the fabulous scenery from the terrace of an extravagant old palace. Aside from gorgeous panoramas and well-appointed accommodation, Majorca also fascinates with its vivacious Spanish flair. Majorcans are rightfully proud of their rich historical heritage. Cultural seekers can view age-old folkloric dances, marvel at impressive architecture like the Palma cathedral and visit artisans in numerous charming villages, such as Deía.

74. Annecy, France

SUBMITTED BY: http://unic0rnface.tumblr.com/

Annecy  in the North of the French Alps, is the Venice of Savoie a well deserved title. The medieval town centre built around a 14th Century Chateau is dissected by small canals and streams running out of Lac Annecy, which is clean, fresh and a wonderful azure colour.  Be transported back in time to this romantic place, wandering these streets with a loved one is a magical experience.

63. Koh Tao, Thailand

Thailand has some of the most amazing beaches in the world.  If walking along soft white sand, jumping in crystal clear waters and eating tropical fruits is romance to you than Koh Tao does not disappoint.  If I remember right it was a bit of a hard slog to get here (maybe it’s improved now as I was there quite a while ago) but the payoff is amazing.  The water here is so warm and so clear you and soak in it forever.  Scuba/Snorkeling are great as well with the reefs in the area and the high visibility in the water.  It’s easy to lose weeks in this place.

63. Minneapolis, Minnesota - USA

Yeah, so I’m biased, this is my hometown.  But as far as romantic evenings throughout my lifetime, Minneapolis easily tops my list.  Stroll down the pedestrian mall (Nicolette mall) down to the Mississippi river and watch her flow.  Walk the stone-arch bridge and soak up the great skyline view and the falls.  A picnic in gold medal park and a play at the Guthrie Theater is about as sweet as an evening can get.  And the parkways system… wow!   Take out a canoe or kayak and paddle the chain of lakes - or bike from one side of the city to the other via lake/stream-side pathways.  Stop for some Sebastian Joe’s for raspberry chocolate chip ice cream.  The romantic options in this city are endless.  Not a ‘destination spot’ but if you happen to be in MN it ain’t so bad.

48. Parisian Hotels (Paris, France)

(SUBMITTED BY:  ESCAPIO)

Not without reason have Paris and particularly Paris hotels long been Europe’s favoured choice for whirlwind affairs and marriage proposals. The stunning views from the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and the Sacré Coeur in Montmartre prove these monuments are just stage props in a world of amour. The city is small and perfectly formed for leafy walks through the Jardin de Luxembourg park and hand-holding along the Seine. The fabulous jewellery shops and designer boutiques, Louvre museum and Pompidou centre keep window-shoppers and culture vultures happy by day, and the countless excellent restaurants tempt into sensual evenings indulging in French cuisine. Who could resist gazing into their lover’s eyes whilst pecking at brie cheese, foie gras or macarons; tasting the typical French frogs’ legs, snails and a shared nutella-filled crêpe from a street stall on the way home. When the sun has set, what better than to return to an utterly stylish romantic hotel and enjoy the ambience of sensual tones and warm decor, turn up the music of love and fall into a Parisian dream together.
