There’s just something magical and romantic about being surrounded by the beauty of the natural world. Whether you’re an experienced hiker/camper or a novice this is a special place to visit. Filled with wildlife and fantastic mountain views one can’t help but be swept away here. You can camp on your own or rent cabins (with great views of the park) or even do day trips, ‘Camp Denali’ was where we rented cabins from. Wander this majestic land, cycle, make camp-fires, star gaze, take pictures… this is just a great place to be.

Kitzbühel is a huge region for skiing in Austria, but as you can see it is simply a gorgeous area year round. The beauty here is breathtaking. You can plan so many romantic getaways in this place from skiing to hiking to mountain biking or on a more mellow note you can wander the area, take pictures, dine and one of the countless restaurants/cafes. This is just a really lovely area - a great romantic spot.

Astarte Suites is a spectacular 9-suite complex designed by Aygoustis Krousis and located on a cliff on the beautiful Santorini Island in Greece. Small, but with impeccable services, infinity pool, and unforgettable views, the hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway. Here is an excerpt from the official description from the architects:
“Magic is in the details at Astarte Suites, beginning with the twinkling Swarovski stones that adorn the ceiling above each suite’s Jacuzzi pool, ending with the personalized service each guest enjoys. Surrounded by soothing shades of white and stone, guests are sure to find bliss here. During their precious down time, guests can relax and unwind next to Astarte’s stunning turquoise infinity swimming pool, which overlooks the Aegean Sea’s tranquil blue waters and nearby rocky cliffs. Leisure and cultural options abound nearby, such as in Akrotiri, an ancient city buried and preserved by volcanic ash-known as the Pompeii of the Greek islands-and at Red Beach and White Beach, the ultimate locales for a spectacular day of fun in the sun”.
How is the view from your standing point?

The strip of beach has an incredible view of the sunsets, each night just as beautiful as the one before. People surf and paddle board until the sun dips below the horizon as tourists gather along the surf to watch. All I really remember is the silence that was interrupted the odd time by the crashing waves. If you’re lucky, it’s also a great place to catch a glimpse of whales silhouetted against the orange sky.

I went there about 3 years ago and it will alway be ingrained in my memory. They have a very historic riverwalk that’s so beautiful pictures don’t do it justice. I went there during the week of Halloween and got to experience the rich Spanish culture there because people celebrate the day of the dead there as well. You should look up their official tourist site. I can only compare it to a Spanish version of Venice, Italy in AMERICA!! They even have a famous spot along the riverwalk called “Marriage Island” where men often choose to “pop the question”

This is about as classic island as it comes. Tucked away in the Caribbean this island has a history of pirates and buried treasure. Romance comes easy here amongst the white sandy beaches and clear turquoise water. There are horse to ride and a fantastic underwater world to explore (there are reefs and diving here), scuba, snorkeling or kayaking are made for this place.. Or you can choose to laze around with your loved one and do nothing. Avoid all inclusive packages where your meals are included - the best food we found was from independent businesses, not our hotel.

Mostar is a picturesque town nestled along the Neretva river. It is a place of beautiful old architecture and winding roads. It is the perfect spot to wander the day away with your loved one taking in this ‘other-worldly’ place, stopping at a sidewalk cafe for a snack and a drink. The Stari Most (Ottoman bridge pictured below) is the most popular tourist destination here but there are also markets and nearby nature reserves and a huge cave. There is something so ancient and magical about the old town, super romantic.

Mosel Valley is a river valley part of which runs through Germany. The valley is speckled with picturesque towns… Cochem and it’s upstream neighbor Beilstein, are two of the towns. Cochem is more bustling and touristy and Beilstein more quiet (without grocery stores or ATMS - at least when we were there). You can bike between the towns, they are only 7 miles apart. Both of these places are picturesque, perhaps Beilstein moreso. They are places of hiking and bike rides and river boats. They are towns of castles, fabulous architecture, wineries and winding cobblestone streets. It is very romantic to spend the day together in such beautiful surroundings where wine and beer flow so freely and the views are free and plentiful.

Halifax is a gorgeous city on the Atlantic cost of Canada, in one of the country’s most beautiful provinces. The city abounds in culture, heritage, and good food. Even if you’re not a fan of seafood, you’ll find something to love! Halifax is a city of laidback people, cosy pubs, and historical and quaint architecture, while at the same time being a modern destination for outdoorsy tourists. Grab Cow’s brand ice cream while walking along the harbour boardwalk, or stroll hand-in-hand through the gardens, or dine aboard a floating restaurant - there’s a lot for lovers to do! Exploring the star-shaped Citadel is an absolute must, as is visiting the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and Pier 21 (Canada’s Ellis Island). Closeby to Halifax are many other delightful places, including the famous lighthouse at Peggy’s cove, and the seaside town of Lunenburg, where the Bluenose schooner was built. Halifax is a charming city within a charming country, and a great introduction to the wonders of the Maritimes!

There’s something kinda magical about the Christmas season isn’t there? Not always ‘romantic’ magical but magical nonetheless. There’s always an exception though because in the case of the Royal Mews Christmas Market in Stockholm, Christmas somehow retains it’s magic with an air of romance sprinkled in. Maybe it’s the beautiful buildings that the market is sits within, maybe it’s the cobblestone square… maybe it’s the ancient feel of the market stands or the gourmet food and trinkets to buy, taste and play with. I’m not sure what it is exactly but if you happen to be in Stockholm during the christmas season and you want a romantic, memorable evening this is a can’t miss spot.
Hang on tight while we grab the next page
