Kitzbühel is a huge region for skiing in Austria, but as you can see it is simply a gorgeous area year round. The beauty here is breathtaking. You can plan so many romantic getaways in this place from skiing to hiking to mountain biking or on a more mellow note you can wander the area, take pictures, dine and one of the countless restaurants/cafes. This is just a really lovely area - a great romantic spot.

*Whistler Canada is a mountain that some people call Blackcomb because it’s neighboring mountain. Its a ski resort but there is also a little town that has many different restaurants and shops as well as nearby hiking. Its really romantic cause there is soooo much snow and its always nice to go out on the deck with your loved one with a blanket and sit there with each other snuggling and such.
*post not numbered as we have already featured Whistler - but we like repeats*

Some say the most romantic thing to do in Puerto Rico is simply to stroll along the streets of Old San Juan and imbibe its special charm. This is especially true on Sundays, when the Puerto Rico Tourism Company hosts a free event called Atardecer Romántico, or “Romantic Sunset,” along Paseo de La Princesa. This is a lovely tree-lined promenade at the foot of the city, with the city walls stretching up on one side and the majestic Raíces Fountain and the San Juan Bay at the end. As you walk, browse the stalls lining the road selling food, drinks, and arts and crafts; stop at a free musical show and join the many couples dancing in the street to the sound of a live band; and steal a kiss by the fountain.

Large stone head statues on an island about the size of Wisconsin probably wouldn’t be considered romantic, but think again. Most remote place in the world, a picturesque view of the Pacific Ocean, some of the bluest skies you will ever see, mysterious Moai statues, and the wonderful Rapa Nui people(Island locals) puts Easter Island at the top of my list for romantic places.

Going to Bruges is like being swung back in time. It seems to be the closest thing I can image to a Flemish medieval city. In the Middle Ages it was very opulent due to its flourishing harbor. However, Bruges is not located on the seaside: a channel provided access from the seaside.
However medieval this town may look, most of the buildings/houses are post-war reconstructions (not sure WW I or WW II).
Enough with the historical chit-chat: what makes Bruges absolutely romantic is the genuinely authentic atmosphere, the cozy pubs cobble stone streets and the actual historical monuments (there are real medieval artifacts too, especially some marvelous cathedrals).
They call Bruges “the Venice of the North”. Like Amsterdam (and Venice) it is criss-crossed with water channels. A large moat encircles the town and is embedded in a scenic park with geese and ducks. Historical boat tours are offered, as well as carriage rides through the town.
Those looking for an easy inspiration can watch blockbuster “In Bruges”, starring Colin Farrell.

I recently returned from a trip to southern India. It was a hard trip- not very relaxing, much less romantic. However on the last day we were given the opportunity to visit a beach near a tiny, unpronounceable village on the southern tip of the country. The journey to the beach added to the romantic-ness of it- we pulled up to an ancient, beautiful cemetery that belonged to the village. From there we walked on a narrow path cut through the jungle, which eventually opened up to a pristine, empty beach. It stretched for miles, and faintly in the distance was a red and white, candy-cane striped light house. The sky was a dark gray from the coming monsoon, but its contrast with the blue-green ocean was beautiful. The water was warm and foamy, the sand was soft on our feet. The sound of the waves on the beach, like it always is, was very relaxing. It was truly the most romantic place we visited in India :)
Hang on tight while we grab the next page
